How do I scan a prescription label?+
Open Pillplexity, tap the camera button, and aim your iPhone at any U.S. prescription label. Hold the phone steady about a foot away. Apple Vision reads the text on-device. If lighting is dim or the bottle is glossy, move toward natural light or tilt the bottle slightly to reduce glare.
Why didn't the OCR work?+
Pillplexity needs a clear, well-lit view of the label. The most common reasons it fails: glare on the bottle, the camera focused on the wrong spot, the label is partly torn or worn, or the text is too small in the frame. Move closer, hold steady, and tap the screen to refocus. If it still won't read, you can type the drug name and strength in by hand.
Is my data private?+
Yes. Patient information (name, DOB, prescription number, prescriber, pharmacy) is stripped on your device before any network request. The only thing that ever leaves your iPhone is the drug name and strength, the same thing printed on the box. Your saved medications list lives only on your device. We do not run a server that knows who you are.
Is Pillplexity a replacement for my pharmacist or doctor?+
No. Pillplexity is information, not medical advice. It rewrites authoritative drug data (openFDA and RxNorm) in plain English so it's easier to understand. Always talk to your pharmacist or prescribing doctor about clinical decisions, dose changes, or any symptoms you're experiencing.
What does Pillplexity cost?+
Pillplexity is free to download and includes a 3-day free trial with full access. After the trial, the subscription is $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year (the annual plan saves about 50%). You can cancel anytime through your iPhone's Subscriptions settings. The privacy guarantees apply on every plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, find Pillplexity, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
What devices does Pillplexity support?+
iPhone running iOS 16 or later. We are iPhone-first. Android and iPad support may follow once iOS is stable.
I think the drug info is wrong. What should I do?+
Email pillplexity@gmail.com with the drug name, the strength, and what looked off. Pillplexity sources information from openFDA and RxNorm and rewrites it in plain English. We do not invent facts, but a phrasing problem or an error in the source data can usually be fixed quickly.

Pillplexity is free to download. All features are unlocked during the 3-day free trial. After that, the subscription continues unless you cancel.
