Terms of Use
Effective Date: June 18, 2026 · Last Updated: July 12, 2026
These Terms include a binding arbitration clause and class action waiver in Sections 14 and 15. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Pillplexity, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Continued use of the app after any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. What Pillplexity Is and Is Not
Pillplexity is an educational and informational reference tool. It scans printed prescription labels and presents medication information sourced from publicly available U.S. Food and Drug Administration drug labeling. It is not a medical device, not a pharmacy, not a prescriber, and not a substitute for guidance from a licensed healthcare professional.
Pillplexity does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Information shown in the app is educational only.
3. No Medical Advice
The information presented in Pillplexity is for general educational purposes. It is not intended to be, and should not be relied upon as, medical advice. You should always consult your prescriber, pharmacist, or another qualified healthcare professional with any questions about a medication, your treatment, or your health.
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or scanned in Pillplexity.
4. Not for Emergencies
Pillplexity is not intended for use in medical emergencies. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, an overdose, an allergic reaction, or any urgent health situation, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States) or contact a poison control center immediately.
5. Use of AI to Generate Summaries
Pillplexity uses artificial intelligence to translate dense FDA drug labeling into plain-language summaries. While the AI is instructed to use only information from the FDA label and to avoid inventing content, AI-generated text may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or imprecise phrasing. Users should always verify medication information with their pharmacist or prescriber before relying on it for any decision.
6. Subscription Terms (Auto-Renewable)
Pillplexity is free to download and includes a 3-day free trial with full access. After the trial, continued use of premium features requires an auto-renewable subscription. Subscribing requires signing in with Apple to create an account; the account information associated with your subscription is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
- 3-day free trial, then $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current rate of the selected plan.
- Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal turned off in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
- No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during an active subscription period.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription.
To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, find Pillplexity, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also manage subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
You can also sign in from the Profile tab without subscribing. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab; deleting your account removes the account information described in the Privacy Policy but does not cancel an active subscription, which you can manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings as described above.
7. Accuracy and No Warranty
Pillplexity is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure the accuracy of information, no representation or warranty is made, express or implied, regarding accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Optical character recognition may misread labels. AI-generated summaries may contain errors. The FDA database may contain outdated information. The user is responsible for verifying any medication information through a qualified healthcare professional before acting on it.
8. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
- Use Pillplexity only for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms.
- Not rely on Pillplexity as a sole source of medical information.
- Verify all medication information with a licensed healthcare professional before making decisions about their care.
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise misuse the app or its underlying systems.
- Not use Pillplexity to circumvent guidance from healthcare providers.
Users are responsible for their own healthcare decisions. Pillplexity is a reference tool; final clinical judgment belongs to the user and their care team.
9. Age Requirement
Pillplexity is intended for users who are at least 17 years of age, consistent with the App Store age rating. Users under 17 should not use the app without involvement from a parent or guardian.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of Pillplexity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to use of the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall the total cumulative liability of the developer to any user exceed the amount the user has paid for use of the app in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which any claim is brought, including negligence, contract, strict liability, or any other basis.
11. Indemnification
Users agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from misuse of the app, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party right.
12. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Updated Terms will be made available within the app and at pillplexity.app/terms. Continued use of Pillplexity after Terms are updated constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Users who do not agree to updated Terms should discontinue use of the app.
13. Termination
The developer reserves the right to discontinue, modify, or restrict access to Pillplexity at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Users may stop using the app at any time and may delete locally stored data through the in-app Settings.
14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or use of Pillplexity shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than through court proceedings.
The arbitration shall be conducted in the State of Michigan unless the parties agree otherwise. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
This arbitration agreement applies to all disputes between the user and the developer, with one exception: either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes that fall within that court's jurisdiction.
15. Class Action Waiver
Users agree that any dispute or claim must be brought in their individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. Class arbitrations and class actions are not permitted under these Terms. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person.
If a court determines that this Class Action Waiver is unenforceable for a particular claim, that specific claim shall be severed from arbitration and brought in court, while all other claims remain in arbitration.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Where arbitration does not apply or is unenforceable, exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the state and federal courts located in Michigan.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision shall be interpreted, to the extent possible, to reflect the original intent of the parties.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the user and the developer regarding use of Pillplexity, superseding any prior or contemporaneous understandings.
19. Apple Standard End User License Agreement
Pillplexity is licensed to you under Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement, except that, where these Terms differ from Apple's standard EULA, these Terms control. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for Pillplexity or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce them against you.
20. Apple Health (Vitals)
Pillplexity's Vitals feature can display wellness information you choose to share from Apple Health, such as heart rate, steps, and sleep. Its optional Patterns view shows simple averages of your own readings on days you logged a medication or supplement compared with days you did not — neutral summaries of your own logged history, computed entirely on your device. These summaries are shown for personal reference only. They are not a measure of any product's effect, and Pillplexity does not provide alerts, scores, or diagnoses based on them. Vitals is not a medical device, and its display should never be used for medical decisions; consult a healthcare professional about any health readings that concern you. How Apple Health data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
21. Labs
Pillplexity's Labs feature lets you record lab values from your own reports and view them over time. It is a personal record-keeping and reference tool only. Reference ranges shown are the ranges printed on your own report; Pillplexity does not supply medical reference ranges, does not interpret your results, does not diagnose, and does not recommend or adjust any treatment or supplement. Any comparison between your results and what you have logged is a neutral display of your own records and is not a measure of any product's effect. Labs is not a medical device and must never be used for medical decisions. Always discuss your lab results with a qualified healthcare professional. How lab data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
